BYOK chatbot

Use your own AI-provider key. Keep your own AI-provider relationship.

PlugginAI is for businesses that prefer a clear separation between the chatbot platform licence and their own AI-provider usage. The provider key is saved encrypted on the server and is not sent to site visitors.

No shared provider key

Your business does not have to rely on a generic platform key embedded in a widget.

Direct usage visibility

You retain the account relationship with the AI provider you choose to connect.

Separate platform licence

The PlugginAI lifetime licence is separate from the provider’s own usage charges.

What bring your own key means

A business supplies the API credential from its chosen AI provider. PlugginAI uses it only from the server to process the chatbot request and stores it encrypted at rest.

What it does not mean

BYOK does not eliminate provider usage charges, provider policies, customer-data obligations, or the need to supervise business instructions. It means those decisions remain visible to the business rather than being hidden in a bundled AI markup.

A safer implementation pattern

Keep API keys out of website JavaScript, WordPress configuration screens, and customer-facing pages. Give each chatbot a public widget identifier or revocable WordPress key instead.

Useful policy decisions

Decide which questions the bot can answer, when it should say it is unsure, and when a human must take over. Add only approved, regularly reviewed knowledge sources.

Frequently asked questions

Will visitors see my provider key?

No. The intended architecture keeps it server-side.

Does BYOK make the platform free?

No. It separates the one-time PlugginAI licence from AI-provider usage.

Can I revoke access?

You can rotate a chatbot WordPress key and remove or replace the stored provider credential through the dashboard.

PlugginAI provides the website, inbox, and secure integration foundation. Businesses remain responsible for provider-account approval, their own policies, and accurate customer information.
